As part of our school vision statement we recognise the need to develop our learners as Global Citizens and
to prepare them for a future shaped by a changing society. We have a strong partnership with Kirima Primary
School a rural start-up village school in Uganda. Kirima Primary school was founded in 1997 under a tree -
today it is one of the top 5 schools in Uganda and has over 300 pupils. Kirima is near the forests of south
western Uganda where the 1988 film ‘Gorillas in the Mist’ was filmed.
Our children keep in contact with pupils at Kirima and learn about their way of life, both at school and at home.
Pupils and staff organise fund raising activities to help sponsor children to attend Kirima Primary School . We
believe this is a really meaningful link which will continue to grow and flourish and really help our children to
truly learn about global citizenship.
